Open to all U3A membersThe
format of the annual meeting is a mixture of talks, demonstrations,
visits and socialising. Talks are at a general interest level so no
specialist scientific knowledge is needed – just a general interest in
the world around you. The programme starts at 2.00pm on Monday 7 August
and finishes after a lunch on Thursday 10 August. Tuesday’s programme
will include a visit (more details later)
The full programme will be available in June/July. Details of past meetings can be seen
on our website .
Residential attendees The residential cost is £270
per person in single student en suite rooms, including the visit and
meals as stated on the programme. There are lifts in the residential
block. There are a small number of rooms for the disabled. Our first
meal will be an evening meal on Monday 7 August. Thereafter the price
includes cooked breakfast, evening meal, coffee/tea for the breaks
between talks. There will also be lunch on Wednesday, conference dinner
on the Wednesday evening and lunch before we depart on Thursday. If you
wish to stay at Nottingham University on the night of Thursday 10 August
(£50 b & b), please select additional item during the booking.
Non-residential attendees There will be a limited number of places for non-residential attendees as follows:
a) Full meeting, including the visit on the Tuesday and lunch on Wednesday (only; no other meals) Cost £105.
b)
Full meeting, including the visit on the Tuesday, lunch on the
Wednesday (only) and conference dinner on the Wednesday. Cost £125.
c) Wednesday only, including lunch and conference dinner. Cost £55.
Other facilities The campus is wheelchair friendly
and there are lifts in the teaching block. There is a small shop on
site, café and a bar which is open in the evenings.
Bookings
The deposit of £100 (residential) or £55 (non-residential) can be paid
online or by cheque. The balance will be due by 1 June. Please book
early: we will try to accommodate late bookings, but it may not always
be possible.
Refunds for cancellations made after 30 April will be at the Third Age Trust’s discretion.
