U3A Science Network 2019 Annual Meeting

U3A Science Network Annual Meeting
Monday 5 - Thursday 8 August 2019
Conference Aston, Aston University, Birmingham
Open to all U3A members

Dear Member,

This is a reminder about the U3A Science network meeting in August. The places are going fast and there is a limit on the delegate numbers, so if you wish to attend please book your place soon.

This year’s venue for the U3A Science Network meeting is Conference Aston at Aston University. The actual meeting will take place in the Conference centre and so we are able to offer Student or Hotel accommodation for the event. Student accommodation comprises single rooms with showers in groups of 5 or 7 linked to a communal area with refreshment facilities. Hotel rooms are either single with shower or double with bath. See our website for details: https://u3asites.org.uk/u3asciencenetwork/welcome

This year we have all new topics, with some of them are given by speakers you may have heard and enjoyed before. The details of the speakers are on our website, but the final programme we will not be published until June by which time we will have finalised all the input from the University departments for presentations. We also hope to have visits in the areas of Assistive Robotics, the AIM (Aston Interactive Media) lab, European Bioenergy Research Plant and an interactive Cybersecurity session.

If you do have any interesting demonstrations you would like to show during the evening session please contact Jane Whitehead programme@U3Asciencenetwork.uk.

Details of the visits will be in the Final Programme in June – have a look at our website in June, a reminder should be in the U3A newsletters nearer the time.

Do go to the Science Network website for more information and complete your application form!
